Surveillance-rated hard drives (WD Purple, Seagate SkyHawk) are designed for 24/7 write workloads. Do not use regular desktop drives; they will fail prematurely.
Common Issues and Fixes
Camera not detected by NVR: Check the Ethernet cable with a cable tester. Make sure the camera and NVR are on the same network. Try rebooting both devices.
Night vision reflection/washout: Mount the camera away from walls and eaves. IR light reflects off nearby surfaces and creates a bright washout in the image.
